Our Elders

       Dale Alexander

Dale grew up in cities along the gulf coast of Texas. He attended college at the University of Texas at Austin and received a degree in petroleum engineering.  He began his career working for a major oil company in South Louisiana. After several transfers in and out of Houston, he ended up in Corpus Christi and lived there for over 30 years working for a small independent petroleum company.

Dale and his wife, Shelly,  have been married over 40 years. They have three married children and six grandchildren. Dale and Shelly both love sports and enjoy hiking in the outdoors. They have a goal to visit and hike in all of the 61 National Parks.

Together they were very active at the Weber Road congregation in Corpus Christi where he served as elder there for 8½ years before moving to Kerrville.

       Gene Bosse

Born in Washington-on-the-Brazos, Gene graduated from Blinn College and Sam Houston State University. Upon graduation, Gene moved to Baytown, Texas and spent his 37 years of teaching and coaching in the Goose Creek CISD. Gene was a teacher and coach at Robert E. Lee High School and for most of the time he was the head track cross-country coach. Gene and his wife, Linda, have been married over 55 years.  Linda was an educator in Baytown for 25 years.  They have two daughters, Gena and Krista, and have four grandchildren, Ashton, Kendall, Ryan, and Regan.

Gene was an elder in the Lakewood Church of Christ (Baytown) for 19 years before moving to the Hill Country in 2003. He has served Riverside Church of Christ as an elder for over a decade and it has been his privilege to have learned from and served with many wise, godly men.

Having to choose a favorite scripture is difficult, but Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me,” is the one that has kept him going throughout the years.

       David Moore

David is a Texas native. He spent 35 years working pipeline telecommunications, automation, and networking for Oasis Pipeline, Texaco, and Shell. He retired in 2020 as a network security consultant.

He and Raquel have been married for over 35 years. They have four children and nine grandchildren. Raquel is a retired insurance agent. David and Raquel have been members of the Riverside family since 2011 and David has been a shepherd at Riverside since 2017.

They are looking forward to spending more time in retirement working with the Riverside family and spending more time with kids and grandkids, with some fishing trips worked in as time allows.

David’s favorite scripture is 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."
